Although the cool factor of the motorcycle is enticing, I found many benefits the scooter had over it that ultimately helped me make a final decision.
BENEFITS OF A SCOOTER OVER A MOTORCYCLE:
1. The scooter itself is cheaper
2. Insurance is cheaper
3. The scooter is more easy to handle b/c it weighs less,
4. It's an automatic and doesn't require manual shifting,
5. The rider can bail out more easily since s/he doesn't straddle the bike,
6. and finally, it has a lower center of gravity due to the location of the engine vs a motorcycle.
7. The scooter has tons of storage compared to a motorcycle. Space for jacket, helmet, gloves, etc.
8. The 125cc one I'm looking at is not freeway legal and will keep me disciplined to streets.
